Call Your Legislator

After finding your lawmaker, identify yourself as a constituent and ask to leave a brief message for the Senator/Delegate explaining your support for the Virginia Civil War Battlefield Fund and urging the lawmaker to back the funding.

Sample Phone Script

Please tell Senator/Delegate                      that I support the Virginia Civil War Battlefield Fund and I strongly urge the General Assembly to appropriate $5 million for battlefield preservation this session.

This Fund is designed to provide much needed state money for the preservation of Civil War battlefields, without which Virginia’s historic battlefields run the risk of being paved over and lost forever. With the 150th anniversary of the war approaching, this funding is more important than ever.

Thank you for your time, and please let the Senator/Delegate know that I urge him/her to support the Virginia Civil War Battlefield Fund.
